A water rescue was made last Saturday, August 28, when two vehicles were swept away in the wash that runs past Mountain View Rd. near Southern Ave. in Apache Junction.
A strong storm that moved through Gold Canyon and Apache Junction late in the afternoon brought enough rain to make wash crossings dangerous.
According to Superstition Fire & Medical District (SFMD), crews were dispatched for the water Rescue at 6:22 p.m.
The two vehicles, each with a single occupant, were swept down the wash after attempting to cross the moving water. Both cars ran into a private residential bridge about 60 feet from the crossing where they became stuck.
Both drivers were assisted to safety by residents before SFMD arrived. No injuries were reported.
