AJPD Responds to Hostage Situation

911 call leads to SWAT arrest

Last Saturday night, Apache Junction Police made an arrest after receiving a 911 call for a hostage situation.

In a release to the public, AJPD Spokesman Officer Marshall Harshman said, “On March 23, 2019, Apache Junction Police Department officers responded to a 911 call at a residence located in the 1200 block of South Ironwood Drive.

When patrol officers arrived, they encountered a woman who was being held against her will. The woman communicated to officers though a window that she was in fear for life. The officers forced entry and were able rescue the woman and move her to safety.

The suspect, Jonathan Dadd, 30, barricaded himself in a bedroom of the house. The Apache Junction Police Department SWAT Team responded to the residence and Dadd was taken into custody and transported to the Pinal County Jail.

Dadd was booked into jail on the charges of Assault/Domestic Violence, Unlawful Imprisonment, and Prohibited Possessor of a Firearm.”
