AJUSD Schools to Open August 7

As July draws to a close, parents and students alike anticipate (albeit with different reasons) the return of the school year. Teachers, transportation, maintenance, and grounds crews have been preparing for weeks to be sure all is ready for a smooth and successful kickoff.

Here are a few tips to help parents be equally well prepared:

First Day of School:
Monday, August 7

Bell Schedule:
All Elementary Schools:
Bell Time AM – 8:30am
Bell Time PM – 4:00pm

Bell Time AM – 6:50 am
Bell Time PM – 3:07 pm

Links to the bell schedule with further information about bus drop off and pick up times and early release schedules can be found on each school’s website home page.

If you do not know the direct website address for your child’s school, you can access each site by going to www.ajusd.org; click on the “Our Schools” tab and select your child’s school.

School Supplies:
A link to the School Supplies lists can be found on each elementary school’s website.

Junior High and High School teachers will provide supply lists for their classes on the first day of school.

Food Services:
Last year, AJUSD launched a popular new app that provides easy access to lunch menus, allergens and nutritional details for each menu item. You can download the app on either android or iPhone: in your App Store, search for Nutrislice.

You can also access menus online by going directly to ajusd.nutrislice.com.

If you still need to complete a Free and Reduced Lunch application, you can quickly and easily file online with EZMealApp.com. Even if you don’t plan to use the free lunch program and/or don’t feel your family will qualify, it is a good idea to submit the application, as the composite data is frequently used to determine a district’s eligibility for grant assistance.

AJUSD also offers Online Meal Payments and monitoring with EZSchoolPay.com. By using EZSchoolPay, you can add money to your student’s meal account using Visa or MasterCard (credit or debit), with credits applied to your child’s account within minutes.

Bus route numbers, stop locations and pick up times were mailed to all families last week. If you do not receive information for your child(ren) by the end of the week (Thursday, 8/3/17), please contact the transportation department at: 480-982-1110 ext. 2202 or 2203.

Please be sure your child knows their bus route number and the location of the bus stop before they leave home on their first day of school. Specified bus stop pick up times are approximate. The district asks that your child be at the bus stop at least 10 minutes before the time noted for pick up and wait 10 to 15 minutes past the pick up time before returning home for assistance.
