8/23 – AARP SMART DRIVER
This course provides research-based information to help you update your driving knowledge and skills. Bring driver's license, AARP membership card and a pen/pencil to class. Class will run from 1:00pm – 5:00pm in the Apache Junction Parks and Recreation Conference Center. Class is offered to ages 16 years and older. The registration fee is $25. AARP gives a discount if you provide your AARP card at the time of registration.
8/24 – SCIENCE LAB FOR KIDS
Science Lab for Kids will introduce basic science concepts that spark constructive conversations and encourage learning and understanding.Classes will run from 2:00pm – 4:00pm in the MGC Art room, located at 1035 N. Idaho Rd. The registration fee is $20 per class and is offered to ages 6-11 years old.
8/24 – PARENT’S NIGHT OUT – MAD SCIENCE
Parents! Looking for a night out? Sign your child up today for a fun-filled, themed evening spent at the AJ MGC! The night will be filled with arts and crafts, sports activities, a snack and access to our game room and rockwall. The theme of the night is: Mad Science. Join us for a night of kooky experiments and zany science projects. This program runs from 6:00pm – 10:00pm and is offered to ages 5- 12 years old. The fee is $4 for MGC members and $8 for non-members.
8/24 – FIT FAMILY BINGO
Bring the whole family to the MGC for Bingo. This event is FREE! There will be games, contests, prizes, light snacks and beverages. Bring your good luck charms for a chance to win even more prizes. This event will run from 6:30pm – 8:30pm but we recommend arriving 15 minutes prior to the start time for check-in. This event does NOT require registration. Dinner is not served but snacks and drinks will be available.
8/28 – FITNESS EXPLORATION FOR HOMESCHOOLERS
This fitness class incorporates a variety of physical activities that will encourage homeschooled kids to live active lifestyles and build healthy habits. Activities will include but aren't limited to: games, sport introductions, strength training, coordination and cardiovascular exercises. The possibilities for fitness FUN are endless! Class is offered to ages 7 to 13 years old and the registration fee is $15 for MGC members and $25 for non-members. This program will run from 2:00pm – 3:00pm each Tuesday and Thursday.
9/4 – KENPO KARATE KIDS
Kenpo provides physical activity, builds strength, coordination & confidence while providing the groundwork for a healthy lifestyle. Kenpo also builds on life skills & gives the student a greater respect for themselves & others. Uniforms are available for purchase through instructor. This class is offered for ages 8 -12 years old. Class runs each Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00pm – 6:45pm. The fee is $40.
9/4 – KENPO KARATE ADULT
Adult Kenpo is a complete martial arts system that is great for self-protection & close-quarters defense. Kenpo is a fun, low-stress learning environment that puts a premium on technical mastery & improvement. Class meets each Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00pm – 8:30pm. Adult Kenpo is offered to ages 13 years and older. The fee is $40.
9/6 – ART IN THE PARK
Art in the Park introduces and teaches participants how to create work of art using the Acrylic medium. Students will learn how to paint different compositions such as still life, landscapes and figure painting all while outdoors enjoying nature and our local city park! Classes will run from 4:30pm – 6:30pm at Flatiron Park located at 100 N. Apache Trail. The registration fee is $35 per class with an additional $10 material fee due on the day of class. Class is offered to ages 12 years and older.
