Apache Junction Police investigate shooting of two residents
Last week, two Apache Junction residents were wounded by a single bullet fired by another person.
On May 16, 2018, at about 9:20 p.m., Apache Junction Police Department (AJPD) officers were called to a shooting at a residence in the 2200 block of W. Greasewood in Apache Junction.
AJPD says that Brandon Cook (31) and Annette Mizell (37) were allegedly involved in a domestic dispute.
Annette’s father, Dan Mizell (75) intervened, discharging a firearm and striking Cook in the chest. The bullet traveled through Cook and struck Annette Mizell in the neck.
The victims were taken to area hospitals for treatment and both are listed in stable condition.
Dan Mizell has been transported to the Pinal County Detention Center in Florence for his Initial Appearance and charged with Aggravated Assault and Endangerment.
