Donors Thanked by City & Community

The Mayor and City Council took time at their meeting on March 6 to thank individuals, organizations and agencies who have generously donated time and money over the past quarter to community projects administered by the city.

Roger Hacker from the city’s Revenue Development Department introduced the donors and the donations with a qualification that it was not possible to list everyone.

Tuesday night’s recognition was the fifth time that donors have been named in this manner, and since November 1, 2016, there have been 618 donors who have contributed $172,820 toward 33 city-supported projects. “Everyone who donates is making a contribution to our community,” Hacker said.

Apache Junction Unified School District employees were recognized for their support of the DARE program. There are approximately 40 AJUSD employees who make regular contributions.

Apache Junction Mounted Rangers were recognized for their support of the AJPD Explorer program.

For their support of the Friends of Apache Junction, Arizona Water Company was recognized.

Superstition Mountain Promotional Corporation was recognized for their support of Kids Club and the TGIF Lunch Program.

Carefree Distributing, Henry & Mary Jo Diulus, Rhietta Enterprises, Becky & Sidney Gardner, Earl Gursky, Patricia Witek and an anonymous donor were thanked and recognized for their support of AJPD’s Paws & Claws Care Center.

For their support of the Royal Palm median project, Superstition Mountain Rotary was thanked by the city, and VFW Auxiliary Post 7968 was thanked for their support of the Senior Lunch program.

Superstition Area Land Trust was recognized for their continued support of Silly Mountain Park, and Frontier Ace Hardware was thanked for their support of the city’s Strong Sustainable Communities project.

For their support to AJPD’s Taser Project, VFW Auxiliary Post 7968 was thanked.

Recognized for their support of video cameras for AJPD were Kenneth and Alice Stosel and VFW Auxiliary Post 7968.
