Aiden McIntyre picked up his first win for the AZL Athletics while throwing middle relief in an 11-6 victory over the AZL Padres 2 squad on July 22.
McIntyre, a graduate of Apache Junction High School and a 22nd round selection by Oakland in the 2018 First Year Player Draft, threw two innings against the Padres 2 after entering the game in the fourth inning. He gave up a hit and one walk, no runs and struck out four.
On June 23, McIntyre was tagged with the loss in a 6-5 defeat by the AZL Cubs 1.
In eight appearances, all in relief, McIntyre is 1-1 with a 3.86 earned run average. In 11 2/3 innings, he has given up five earned runs on nine hits, logging 17 strikeouts while issuing nine walks. His WHIP (walks and hits per innings pitched) is 1.54 and has also earned a hold.
As of Aug. 1, the AZL Athletics are second in the AZL East with a 4-4 mark.
