Suspect arrested in AJ Drive-in Robbery

Apache Junction Police (AJPD) have made an arrest in a case involving an armed robbery at the Sonic Drive-in on Apache Trail in Apache Junction.

AJPD spokesman Officer Marshall Harshman said that the crime occurred on Wednesday, March 27 at about 10:00 a.m.

“Sonic employees reported that a male suspect entered the store, pointed a gun at them, demanded money and personal items from the employees.

Responding officers set up a perimeter as the suspect was seen climbing the backyard fences in the nearby area. Officers subsequently located and arrested the suspect outside a residence in the 300 block West 3rd Avenue. The suspect was in possession of cash and some of the personal items that were stolen from the victim employees.

The suspect has been identified as William Scott Graves, age 33, of Apache Junction. Graves was charged with multiple counts of Aggravated Assault and Armed Robbery and has been transported to the Pinal County Detention Center in Florence where he is currently being held on a $100,000 bond.
